Introduction

Welcome to the Speeds and Feeds Calculator. This calculator is for machine tool operators to help calculate surface feet per minute (SFM), tooling RPM, and feed rates. The first installment will have basic functions to get the machinist in the ball park for speeds and feeds. The advanced functions will come later but will be more in depth to get a more accurate result.

How To Use

At the top, select your units (metric or imperial), then select your operation (turning (lathe), milling, or drilling). Select the basic tab for quick numbers to get you started. Select the advanced tab (when available) to really dial in your settings.

**Note: Values have been acquired from various sources. We cannot guarantee that all values are 100% correct. Adjustment may need to be made based on machine setup, rigidity, and tooling geometry.
