About

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. My goal is to take you on my journey of science and engineering in every day life. I come across problems all the time that require unique solutions. I like to find new and interesting ways of solving problems, but sometimes it is just the tried and true methods that get it done. Whatever the case may be, I would like to share what I find along the way with my readers so that we all may learn. Suffice it to say, that we will be learning quite a bit from my mistakes!

Some of my interests include aerospace, especially the engineering side. I do have a degree in Aerospace Technology (Engineering Technology, not Engineering – hence the Pretend Engineer). There may be some aerospace engineering related problems that we may look into at some point, but those tend to be on the expensive side. I am also an avid fan of 3D printing and you’ll see that with how often I use 3D printing to solve problems. I will have some blogs dedicated to 3D printing, coming in the near future.

Another area of focus for me is renewable energy. I am currently working on building a new building on my farm and it is going to be equipped with solar and batteries, and hopefully a geothermal system for the heat and air. I have some ideas for unique solutions and different ways of achieving these goals.

My promise to you is that I will share with you my successes and my failures with each project. I want to be able to push the boundaries of design, using sound engineering practices, but also be able to test the limits and try new things. This of course may result in catastrophic failures, to which I will share my thoughts about, and will welcome insight from my readers.

As we grow as a community, I hope to be able to take on challenges from my readers, so if you have something you would like for me to look into, please send them my way. Thank you for taking this journey with me, and I hope that you gain some knowledge, and have a little fun doing it.
